  There are Five main strains of the Hepatitis Virus which are A, B, C, D and  E. Together, Hepatitis B and C are the most common cause of deaths. This Article will be looking at the Viral Hepatitis B and C. Viral Hepatitis is a major global health problem with more than 400 million  patients chronically infected, causing over 1.4 million deaths per Year globally. Its  prevalence varies throughout the World, but is highest in the Tropical Regions. It is  estimated that 5-15% of Adults in Sub-Saharan Africa are chronically infected with  HBV. There is a 15-25% risk of dying prematurely in Adulthood from HBV-related  Cirrhosis and Hepatocellular Carcinoma, while a small proportion of those with  acute infections may also succumb to fulminant liver failure. Nigeria contributes significantly to the global burden of chronic viral Hepatitis with the prevalence rate of 8.1% for Hepatitis B and 1.1% for Hepatitis C. Over 900,000 Children and about 3,000 pregnant Women are set to benefit from the various forms of Health Interventions which includes Nutritional supplements, Delivery Kits, Vaccination, distribution of long lasting insecticide treated net etc in Cross River State to help reduce if not eradicate completely the increasing rate of Malnutrition, malaria, vaccines preventable diseases amongst other common causes of Maternal and Child Mortality. Dr Betta is a Lion at Heart- District Governor!."*  The Lion's Club of Nigera, District 404, Atakpa division headed by Lion Mrs Osadebe have renovated and handed over the Primary Healthcare Centre Ekeng Ewa to the Cross River State Government for use as part of their Community Development Program for the 2020/2021 service year. The Facility which was vandalized with some major equipments looted during the #Endsars protest was temporarily shut down due to lack of working/functioning equipments.
