The President General Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Ambassador George Obiozo has commended the Nigerian Army for its role in restoring peace to South East Region. He made the commendation in Enugu when he hosted the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Maj Gen Taoreed Lagbaja on a courtesy visit today. Ambassador Obiozo expressed his delight for the visit saying “without peace nations cannot progress and without the Armed Forces we will have more problems.   Finally, DSS obeys court order, produces 12 detained Igboho’s aides in court. The Department of State Services (DSS), on Wednesday, produced the 12 detained associates of Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, before a Federal High Court, Abuja in compliance with its earlier order. It was reported that Justice Obiora Egwuatu had, on July 23, ordered the security agency to bring the detainees in court following an ex-parte motion moved by counsel to the 12 applicants, Pelumi Olahengbesi, to seek for the enforcement of their fundamental rights. Although the DSS had, on two occasions, failed to produce them in court, the security outfit today, Aug. 4, brought the 12 detainees before the court to show cause why they should not e released on bail.   The office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) has declared that it is yet to receive any official arrest warrant for embattled ‘super cop,’ Abba Kyari. The declaration was made on Monday by Umar Gwandu, the Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations to the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.   According to him, the office of the AGF has not received any official communication on the arrest warrant issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Kyari. It will be recalled that an arrest warrant has been issued for the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, who has been linked to fraud with Nigerian internet fraudster, Hushpuppi. The order was granted following an ex-parte motion moved by his lawyer Chief Yomi Aliu (SAN) at the court on Wednesday. The motion developed from the originating motion seeking N500 billion damages for invasion of his house in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on July 1. Aliu expressed confidence the AGF Abubakar Malami (SAN) will not disobey the court order, stressing that it was given directly against his office. Hearing in the suit was adjourned to August 18.

 Embattled Nigerian billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudimeme 'Evans' Onwuamadike has revealed how he was coerced into admitting being a kidnapper after the police in a bid to make him confess, killed four people in his presence.   In a recent appearance before a judge on Tuesday, Evans said he is not guilty of the two-count charge on conspiracy and Kidnapping brought against him by his co- defendants. He denied all allegations levelled against him by the Lagos state government, insisting he was a legitimate businessman who deals on ornaments and horlicks. Evans denied having any previous knowledge of the identity of his co-defendants who were paraded as members of his kidnap syndicate. He said prior to being arrested by the authorities, he had never met any of them. Evans and the people who were paraded as members of his kidnap syndicate were accused of kidnaping one Mr Dunu in Lagos after which the sum of 223,000 Euros was allegedly collected from his family as ransom.   All ...
