The Reason For The Season...
In our relationship with God,we are not the one sustaining or holding the relationship but God. From the foundation of the world, the Lamb of God was slained.The book of Revelation describes Jesus as "slain before the foundations of the earth":
He did not just stop there,at the point when the human race needed salvation badly,He allowed His only begotten son who He had already set aside for the sacrifice to be slained for the remission of man's sin. My pastor (Rev Dr Ogbueli)will always say that when God gave us His son,He gave us EVERYTHING. Rom8:32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Ephesians 1:3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. So in Christ,God gave us everything (every spiritual blessing)
God at this point of giving us everything still did not stop there in sustaining our relationship with Him. He sent the HolySpirit. God now lives in us permanently John14: 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. An ADVOCATE who will never leave you. Hebrew 13:5 Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” God Himself said here I will never fail you,I will never abandon you
The Holy spirit is not just living in us,He is in us helping us in our relationship with Him. Rom8:26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. Even in our prayers,He groans always.(meaning of groaning- a deep inarticulate sound conveying pain, despair, pleasure, etc.)
That's the kind of prayers the Holyspirit prays(continuously)for you.
God is not waiting for our love to keep this relationship with us, rather He want us to love Him,obey His words and follow Him so that He can help us. The will to decide for ourselves whether to Love,Obey His words and follow Him, is our choice. You can be among The Called Rom8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. The gospel (the good news) is the call we are hearing right now and this season also reminds us of God's immeasurable and unwavering love. God is not JUST mad at YOU because of what has happened or is happening in your life right now. No He is not, if He was, He would have destroyed you before now. He is still believes in you. He is ready to forgive you everything, not just because of you but for His own sake and He will not remember it again. Isaiah 43:25“I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again. Every plan of God is in our favor. He is for us and not against us. This REVELATION is all we need to understand this season. Rom8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Another REVELATION of this season is that we have EVERYTHING. God gave us everything in Jesus Christ. We may think that since Jesus left and sent the Holyspirit,His ministry has ended. No, He is at the right hand side of the father making Intercession for us. Rom8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Even as the Holyspirit is in us groaning, Jesus Christ who according the above scripture is the only qualified person to judge is at the right hand side of the father instead of judging us,is interceding for us. Is He not more than EVERYTHING to us? What an expression of love! His Love is so high that we can not get over it. It is so deep that we can not get under it and so wide that we can not get around it.
This is just the reason for this season.
We must spread it to everyone and to every nation and to every religion that Jesus is the only way to salvation. And that He is ever ready to save anyone who receives Him now,He will also give you the Holyspirit. Acts4:12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” but by the name of Jesus Christ-The Reason For The Season. God bless you and happy celebration
